Bosch Packaging Services is set to offer a new ‘Stock Optimization’ service to its customers for enhanced on-site spare parts management. The concept gives a quick overview of existing and required stock based on the latest software technology.
According to Bosch, the new concept is also expected to result in higher spare parts availability and increased profitability of stock investment.
Bosch Packaging Services parts & logistics manager Scott Johnsrud said the company will define the manufacturers' spare parts profile for a customized optimization of their spare parts management, with its Stock Optimization concept.
"It focuses on achieving highest availability with minimal stock," Johnsrud said.
Using specially developed software, a detailed spare parts profile is generated for each customer, which is obtained by evaluating the earlier consumption history documented in the company's order and delivery system.
The details of regularly ordered parts and order frequency constitute the basis for stock optimization, together with the stock coverage information from Bosch. For a detailed analysis, spare parts data from the own procurement systems of manufacturers can also be included.
The results will be documented in a structured report and serve as basis for a detailed discussion and evaluation.
